When I was talking to a non genealogy nut the other day she told me the following story. I
have known this lady long enough to know this is a true story and needed to be shared with
the right people.
As a child she lived out in the country and often took a short cut through the fields, one
day her sister fell on a "rock" which when the inches maybe feet of leaves were
dug out of the way proved to be a tomb stone. They counted what they could that day and
found 96. One, my friend remembers even today, as being from May 19th 1703 it was an
infant girl just 10 days old. The birth date was probably the only reason she remembered
it as it was hers May 9th. Thirty years later she went back just to see if it was still
there and found it. Well it has been another 20 years and for some reason I bet it is
still there and listening to the whole story wants to be found, I live in IN and may some
day make it there just to check it out but for those that could have ancestors theer I
wanted to pass this on. She thinks it is Huron County or just south in MT Clemons (PLEASE
DO NOT HOLD ME TO ALL SPELLING ) she said it is within a !/2 mile of Gratiot Rd and
Arlington RD for anyone familia!
r with
the area this should help I would think. I hope someone has the time and lives close
enough to actually check this out. Happy Hunting Anyone interested in talking to this lady
contact me.
Linda
