Hi Renee,
My Kratochvil line came into New York.. then to Chicago then to Michigan.
Not sure if this is much of a guide for you but it is one way they came.
Left Chicago because they were treated so badly and it was, to them,
a dirty city.
Good Luck,
Brenda
I have ancestry but have not researched Sweden = if you don't get help
holler and I can check ancestry, IF you have not.

Subject: [MIGEN] Victor & Carl SWANSON-to Michigan in 1889
I'm trying to find the birthplace in Sweden of these brothers:
1- Victor SWANSON, Apr 1869-Sweden - married Emma Jane Allen on 4 Apr 1891 of
Houghton Co.,Mich. Died 17 May 1923 in Bucyrus, Crawford, Ohio.
2- Carl SWANSON, Oct 1865-Sweden- married an Annie abt 1895.
3- Emil SWANSON - no info.
1900 Houghton Co.,MI Census, p 67B, lists both Victor & Carl with their
families.
Swedish "Emigranten" says Carl SVENSSON emigrated to "Ironwood, Mich"
in 1889.
(This is in Gogebic Co. only 2 counties away from Houghton Co.) It also says
their last residence was FRYKERUD, Varmland, Sweden. Would like to find Victor
on this source also.
Would someone headed for Michigan come in through the port of New York or into
Canada? - Any suggestions or help appreciated. Thanks, Renee Harris
