Hi Barbara, According to Michigan Place Names:
"Elm Rock Leelanau County, storekeeper Mrs. Eliza Willobee became the first
postmaster of this rural post office in Elmwood Township on Jan 17, 1879,
the office operating until Sept 20, 1883 (GSM 1881; PO Archives)"
I further looked in the Andriot Township Atlas of the U.S. and this township
is in the lower right hand corner of the county structure.
