There are no WEDLAKEs indexed in 1870 Michigan (checked three
sources). In
1880, there is only one family, Charles and Catherine WEDLAKE, who are too
young
to have been William's parents. Also, the GAZETTE reads
"William WEDLAKE,
late of Redruth, Cornwall . . . This tells me that he had not been in the
US
