Listers I would welcome help in trying to trace descendants of Samuel
BLANCHARD b England C1886 who arrived at Ellis Island in 1906
and in the census of 1930 is listed as being married to Irene F age 35 and
had
children Preston J age 11, George M age 8, Susan A age 2 yrs 8 months. The
Blanchards were living on a farm and Samuel was a welder in a car shop in
Marshall Township.
In the 1920 Census the address was 701 West Hanover St, Marshal Township.
In 1910 Samuel was single and was a farm labourer for Richard J Markham of
Marshall Township.
I am not a relation of this family. Samuel BLANCHARD was part of a large
Lincolnshire family including Lizzie BLANCHARD who married Charles DICKINSON
and came to Australia in 1910. With Lizzie and Charles was also my
grandmother Amy Alice DICKINSON. I am trying to help Australian descendants
of Lizzie and Charles DICKINSON to trace their scattered tree.
Charles and Lizzie had a brother Harry who died in France in 1918 in WW1
aged 18. This was after him having served for most of the war.It is also
believed that members of the DICKINSON family may have settled in Jackson Co
in the 1880s.
Any help would be gratefully received.
