From the message boards - sent by James Lalone:
For those who have visited the Library of Michigan or have been to
seminars where she has spoken will want to know that Carole Callard
passed away Saturday morning.
She will be greatly missed by both family and friends. She was a
knowledgeable genealogist and the ONLY Genealogy Chair at a State
Library in the nation.
Helpful and friendly she did a lot to promote genealogy not only for
Michigan but for other states as well.
There will be visitations on Tus. Dec. 13 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to
9 pm. A Scripture Service will be held Tues. evening, 7 to 9 pm. These
are scheduled at the Gorseline-Runciman Lansing Chapel, 900 East
Michigan Avenue, Lansing, MI, phone: (517) 482-1533.
The funeral service will be Wed. Dec. 14 at St. Mary Cathedral, 219
Seymour St, Lansing, phone: (517) 484-5331.

my note: I was very fortunate to have known and worked just a bit with
Carol. She was one of the smartest ladies in genealogical knowledge
that I have met. She was a huge asset to the MI State Library and
instrumental in many genealogy collection additions. Several people in
the Grand Traverse Area Genealogical Society knew Carol and she gave
lecturers at our Society functions several times.
