hello everyone
I recently joined this list. The family member I am researching is Alfred
LITTLEPROUD, brother of my grandfather, Henry LITTLEPROUD.
Henry and Alfred were born in New Zealand, Henry in 1865 and Alfred about
1879. Henry moved to Australia about 1885; Alfred apparently migrated to
USA about 1900 [via San Francisco?]. The family later lost touch with him.
This is the information I have been able to discover about Alfred after he
moved.
In the 1910 census, Alfred was listed as living in Genesee, Michigan.
He married Lillian [Weatherbee] CARTEN, a divorcee, on 19 July 1912.
They had 2 daughters, Rosemary born about 1914, and Fanny born about 1917.
On his WW1 registration card, Alf was living at 103 H/Morton Ave, Detroit,
Wayne, Michigan. and was working at the Packard Motor Car company as an
aircraft draftsman. He was a naturalised citizen.
In the 1930 census, Alfred and family were living in Wayne Michigan.
Alfred's death was recorded in 1968, still in the city[?] of Wayne, Michigan.
It is possible that one of Alf's daughters married a Mr WILSON.
I would love to make contact with Alf's descendents. Any information about
the family would be very welcome.
Barbara in Adelaide, South Australia
