Grand Traverse County, Michigan</A>
A CD history of a portion of Grand Traverse County, Michigan and in
particular the little village of Yuba, Acme Twp. Most of the history
represents over ten years of accumulated pioneer family histories spanning
the years (1840 through 1940).
Many of the early pioneer families to this region came from other states.
Over 60% came from New York, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Vermont,
and Mass. Others, 1,512-38%, based on the 1880 US Census, came from Canada,
Ireland, England, Scotland, Holland, Germany and France with the majority
(59%) of this total coming from Canada.
Also included in the CD you will find many old photos of the people of Yuba.
You will also find many newspaper snips from 1860's through 1910 that
describe the everyday life of individual Yuba citizens, cemetery records and
a map of Acme Twp, Grand Traverse County. Some school, church and early
Indian history is illuminated.
I do hope you find this history informative, entertaining and most of all, a
magnification of your family history.
