Subject: Re: [MIGEN] Port Huron, Michigan questions
Hello,
1. Try this Michigan website for Birth certificate information:
http://www.michigan.gov/hal/0,1607,7-160-17449_18635_18646---,00.html
2. Yes, Michigan has the same practices. However, some cities/counties
are
only open on certain days for genealogy look ups. Try this website for
more
information:
http://www.rootsweb.com/~mistclai/index.html
3. 1943 to 1946 are still considered recent so you may not find much in
the
way of city directories but the two links I provide above should direct
you
to any that exist.
4. Most records are not released to the public until 75/100 years after
the
date of issue for privacy reasons. So I am not sure you would be able to
obtain any of the birth, marriage or death records until that time has
passed.
The only thing I would suggest is if you could find out where his parents
or
grandparents were born/died etc. Hope this helps, good luck in your
search.
Regards,
W.R. Walker
