I really appreciated what you said about spellings. I am currently trying to find the
birth of a GGgrandmother whose name I have
seen spelled so many different ways, that at this point I'm not sure what her real
given name was. Even the way it was spelled in
their marriage record seems too unpronounceable to be correct.
I have often wondered if the reason was like you said, she couldn't spell so
didn't know how to spell it anyway.
