Sue,
That's a tough window. Lansing does have the INDEX for deaths thru 1914,
but the returns on deaths stop in 1897. For a death in Detroit the City
Death Index would be great BUT it starts in 1920 and goes from there. If
its Oakland County you can go to the Courthouse and look at death records on
the books at no cost. I would suggest that if perhaps you have any idea on
the county that you contact the county itself. I personally have had some
contact with quite a few of the smaller counties north of the Detroit area
and they were quite pleasant to work with.
Maybe someone else on the list knows of a resource I've missed.
Good luck with your search!
Karen

Subject: [MIGEN-L] Death date
I think I already know the answer to this, but does anyone know how
to
find a death date in Lansing or anywhere else? Is there some sort of
master index? I've narrowed the death year down to 1910 to 1922. I've
sent to Lansing twice with two different years and no luck. Any ideas
would be much appreciated.
