Hi Jan,
I'm glad you are making progress in your search.
To find a wife for Paul, again, in the location he died, look for
directories just before his death year.
Or you can order his Social Security records, for a fee, and that should
tell you about his family.
If you can find an obit that would help alot, too. The funeral home usually
published the obits in the local newspaper. Do a search for the place of
death location, go to
www.google.com/search and see if you can find a
newspaper for that area and try to find the obit. Maybe the library in the
area would have the obit, too. You could also order the death certificate
from the county clerk's office.
Just depends how much you want to spend to find the information. Ask at a
library in the area, and see if there might be volunteers to help you. And
check for online cemetery listings for the county of death, and see if he is
listed. Once you find a 'family cemetery listing' then others in the family
may be buried with them. IF you do find an obit, then you can contact the
funeral director for more family information, such as relatives, children,
etc. Don't forget to contact the cemetery folks, too, as they also keep
records.. they would show who bought the plot, who gave the information for
burial, and maybe also show other lots in the same plot and who they are
designated for.
The Social Security record online does NOT give the Place of Death. It only
shows the last residence as far as the social security office knew it. OR
who the SS checks were sent to which could be a child or executor of the
deceased estate. So you need to contact the county clerk's office to make
sure you have the correct death location, then start searching for the obits
(either library or funeral homes). Did you know small town florists who
sent flowers to the funeral home, can also have information available ?
You have a start, so keep it up, and go for it ! You might find other
cousins being the children of Paul.
Check the County Clerk's Office or the library for marriage records, showing
who Paul married. Sometimes you can also find tax records on the internet
which might show Paul owned a house and if the wife was alsol isted as
co-owner... Keep thinking of all the angles, what documents show the
info you are hunting for, and dig them up.
Good Hunting,
Mary

Hello again
This is the Russell Farling I was look for, I think. Sadly I have also
found
his wife's death and, the person I was hoping to contact, my cousin Paul's
death in 1993.
I think Paul was married - how can I find his wife??
Thanks again
Jan
