Subject: [MIGEN] Nortthuis, Cornelius Dutch Immigration
Hi,
I am looking for Dutch Ancestors in Michigan.
I'm looking for Henry Van Werven born 21 Mar 1850 Holland his wife Nancy
Northouse born 22 Oct 1857 Grandhaven, Ottawa, Michigan. Nancy's father is
Cornelius Northuis and her mother Ofke Van Maren. They had a daughter
Joanna Henrrietta Van Werven (married name Stick) born 26 Apr 1881 also in
Grandhaven. They may have had a son named Niel and Nancy may have had a
brother named Niel. Nancy and Henry married 18 Nov 1876
Henry might be Hendrik Van Werven since he came over from Holland and his
name may have been Americanized. Nancy's parents came over from Holland.
I am looking to see if there are immigration records in Michigan since
Henry and Cornelius are the ones that immigrated, and they apparently went
straight to Michigan. I am hoping to find some kind of record.
Cornelius and Ofke would have been here before 1857 since that is when
daughter Nancy was born
On Nancy's death certificate the last names are spelled
Van Werven
Northuis
Van Maren
Other spelling that I have seen are:
Noordhuis
Noorthuis
Northouse
Van Werren
Van Werden
If anyone has any ideas I would be most greatful.
Thank you,
Barbara Ann Phillips
