Hi Robin so sorry I havent been back to you but have just had the Death
Certificate arrived today. John Letcher RASHLEIGH,Died of Cancer in 1917. I
got a fright at first when I looked at it as his Mothers name was spelt with
Katherine in stead of Catherine. And then of course I realised it was her as
the Father was Joseph. It said on the certificate he was a Widower not to
Priscilla his wife as she Died in Palmerston North, NZ ,quite abit later
than that. I would like to thank you I tell everyone you are great and you
are.I have been looking for him for ages and then you came along.THANK YOU.
I have still a few other RASHLEIGHS over there and I would luv to find there
Buriels and Deaths etc.As I have them on the Census in Michigan I think it
is.If I sent you there names. They are Johns Brothers and children. There is
about 4 of them. I dont mind paying you if you could help me and then that
would be the RASHLEIGH Tree finished. How would I be able to find where
John was Buried. It says on his Certificate he was Buried in Jackson. Now I
dont mind if you say No about helping me with the others.
Well once again Thank you and thank you.
Regards,Noeline kiwi in Brisbane

Ms. Mullins,
I utilized
Ancestry.com to conduct a search for John Rashleigh from 1899
through 1950. I located him in the 1900 census in Michigan much as you
indicated in your email. I then found a record of John Letcher Rashleigh
in the voter registrations for Amador County, California in 1914. His
occupation was a miner, he was living at 34 Main Street, Jackson,
California.
I then utilized a guest pass at
vitalsearch.com to see if he had died in
California between 1905 - 1939. I located an entry in that index with the
following information (the image was a tad blurry):
Rashleigh, John; male; age 67; Amador Co; date of death 9/13/1917; certif
# 29975
You may wish to request a copy of the death certificate from the state of
California:
http://www.cdph.ca.gov/certlic/birthdeathmar/Pages/CertifiedCopiesofBirth...
or Amador County:
http://www.co.amador.ca.us/depts/recorder/
Another useful website for Amador County research:

Best of luck in your continued research!
