Good morning, Liz. I can try and answer part of your question (and get you started).
The Library of Michigan has on microfilm a statewide divorce index for the years
1897-1923.
You can submit a request to the librarian on the LofM's website and ask them to do a
lookup for you, unless some researcher who monitors this list is heading up to Lansing in
the next week or 2.

Subject: [MIGEN] marriage and divorce in Michigan
hi folks, a relative was working in Ann Arbor MI, in 1910 and in 1912
she went to Windsor, Ontario to marry- I am not sure why?
this lady was from Ireland and had been in Ann Arbor since 1908; her
spouse [groom] was born and lived in Ann Arbor:
MARY ELIZABETH STEWART married EDWIN WALTER WAGNER, 1912 in Essex,
Ontario. I assumed they returned to Michigan after marriage.
The marriage appeared not to last very long as Edwin married Winnifred
Coverly Mercer in 1915 and lived with her in 1920 and 1930.
so two questions: why did they go to Ontario to get married?
and how would i search a divorce for years 1912 to 1915? assuming it
took place in Michigan, but not knowing this.
Looking forward to your help, regards Liz of BC Canada
