Could someone explain in more detail? I went to the Library of Michigan
And saw that they have the Divorce Index mfm 565.D58 for 1897-1969 as well
As the Summary mfm 567.D57 for 1897-1922
[
http://www.michigan.gov/documents/hal/hal_lm_Vitals_174109_7.pdf].
What does the index contain? Does one then have to consult the county
Where the divorce took place to get a copy of the divorce decree?
What does the Summary contain?
Is there a cost (contribution) for the state librarians?
Thanks for any info. --Doug

Good morning, Liz. I can try and answer part of your question (and
get you started).
The Library of Michigan has on microfilm a statewide divorce index for
the years 1897-1923.
You can submit a request to the librarian on the LofM's website and
ask them to do a lookup for you, unless some researcher who monitors
this list is heading up to Lansing in the next week or 2.
