Social Security index records that Edna was born 26 May 1896 and died June 1966 in
Detroit. Edna Summerfield served as a maid on Str. City of Cleveland III arriving in
Detroit four times during the summer of 1949. Her nationality was Scotch. Another
document gives her alien registration number and her birth as Aberdeen, Scotland. Edna
lived at 763 Hazelwood Ave., Detroit. She was 5' 6" and weighed 170 lbs. She had
some burns on her wrist which dated back to 1915. What I don't understand is that she
gave her name as Edna Wilson Summerfield. There is no date on the document but Ancestry
dates it as 5 Nov. 1945. She entered the U.S. as a permanent resident at New York on the
U.S.S. Washington on 9 Feb. 1937.
Another record gives Edna Summerfield, b. abt. 1897, age 56, departing from Montreal,
Quebec, Canada and arriving in Liverpool 29 May 1954. The ship was the Empress of
France.
A family tree on Ancestry lists Arthur Musselwhite (1875-1951) and Emily Jane
Sunderland(1874-1945). Arthur can be found in the 1901 census for Aberdeen and he died in
Poole, England. Emily was born in Aberdeen and died in Poole. She departed from
Liverpool on the Empress of Britain and arrived in Quebec 6 June 1914. Unfortunately no
other information is given.
Eliza arrived with Edna in Quebec. She then can be found in Australia at 48 Gerlale
Street Cronulla in 1930 and in 1936 at 10 Park Road Glebe, Sydney. She died 28 Nov. 1970
in New South Wales. She married Collingwood Fielder in Southampton on the 18 Sept. 1915.
There even is a picture of her and her husband.
In the 1901 census, Arthur is a fisherman working out of Poole.
There is still more information so would be interested to know what more you need.
