Hi Diane,
Reading your response to this email encouraged me to ask you a question.
I have a great uncle, David Webber Corbin, who was an undertaker in Detroit
and lived in Highland Park. Don't know where/name of the funeral home he
may have worked at and was wondering if there are some records where this
Info may be found. I have checked Michigan Death Records - nothing! His
wife, Wilhemina (Mabel) Corbin was found in the 1941 Detroit City Directory,
but nothing on him. I even researched divorce records and found nothing.
It would appear that he, basically, disappeared! I find this most unusual!
Any help in my efforts to find this David W. Corbin, would be most
appreciated. Joan Perkins, NYS

The only reference I find on Ancestry is found in the 1939 city directory
for Albany, New York. There is listed Amanda Vrendenberg, widow of Albert
C. Earl Vrendenberg is listed just below her. It is very possible that
Albert shortened his name or changed the spelling in order to be more
Americanized. Ancestry does have the record for his arrival in New York.
In 1900 there is listed Albert Veneman, immigrated 1892, born Aug. 1852,
Holland, living in Castalia, Charles Mix, South Dakota.
Wish I could be of more help. Diane Needham
