Hello Everyone:
Many of you are unaware of the great amount of data that you may need
can be located within published lineages that you may have discarded
because you thought they covered another line.
For instance a title may say "The Smith Family" or something similar and
since you have no Smiths in your line, you do not take time to pursue it
further. Make it a point to always check the index of any reference work
you locate. You just may turn up those missing surnames that continue to
elude you.
As an example of what you may find is the lineage of the well known genealogist
Mrs. Mellcene Thurman Smith used by her in 1929 to qualify for membership
in the Daughters of The American Colonists.
The lineage of Mrs. Smith contains much data on many of her ancestors that may
be of help to some of you. Unlike many direct line lineages she has gone
into her
allied lines by listing wives, marriage dates, death dates and birth dates
and also
a few words on who these people were. The lines represented are mostly all
from Massachusetts and New England
On this file I have included names of some of her ancestors to show just what
can be done with a line. All this was compiled before before the advent of
computers!
This complete file is listed on our web site and you will find the URL at
the end of
this message.
Some of her many Ancestors are.

Hello:
Just a suggestion:
There may be an 1884 Michigan State Census that you could get at your local
Family History Center (Mormon's) and you can narrow down his death even more
by finding the family as it was at that time.
Good luck

Tried to reply to message sent to me but it was sent back as user unknown.
How can that be when they answered me by email about my search?
So I am posting my reply in hopes they see it..
Carrol,
I am not sure why I put Tuscola City. I must have read this cty as being city
instead of county. You are right. I have the marriage date but am needing an
article on his death or something tying the next piece of information that I
sent about a death for a John HEATH. The year would seem to fit since she
remarried to William M. BROWN in 1885.
What is death by gravel?
Does that have to do with anything you would consider drowning?
Would love to get some more information on this John HEATH because even
though the date seems to fit the age doesn't. This was Olive's first marriage
and I
don't think she married a man so much older.. How can I find out if these two
are linked or not?
Would there be a death certificate?
OLIVE ADALADE JONES m JOHN F HEATH in TUSCOLA cty 09 OCT 1881

Where is this place of death located and the county listed, what other
counties is it near?

Pam;
There are some Heaths' deaths mentioned in Fairgrove on this Tuscola County
website...this might give you a lead to where John lived and died.

P.S. If you wish I could send you my weblinks of my various Michigan sites

that you want it. It is too long to include on the mailing list.

Subject: [MIGEN] Still searching for a article on John Heath's
drowning/death between 1881-1885
Still looking for a John F. HEATH obit who I have been told drowned. He was
married to an Olive "Hattie" Adalade JONES 09 Oct 1881 in Tuscola City
Michigan. He must have drowned sometime between 1881 and 1885 because she
remarried
in 1885 to a William Murry BROWN.
Can anyone help me in locating this obit?
Or any information as where to try and find something on his death.
Is there city guides back then?
How does one find information on a person back that far?
I have tried all possible places and put in tons of searches for the Heath
name hoping to find something that will related to him and Olive JONES.
God Bless
Pam

I need one volunteer who would help to enter data for images of the newspapers that I am working on. Now that the year 1897 of the Middleville Sun is scanned I am working on the data that goes with them. If someone would be willing to take over entering data, I can start on the next year and get that one scanned a lot sooner.
Requirements:
*First and foremost, the papers need to be in a safe environment. You will have the whole year of newspapers in your possession. I have a card table next to my desk to lay them out on and when I'm not working on them I cover them up with plastic.
*You can work on them in your home on a continual basis until the year 1897 is done. I am currently into April. Data is entered for each page. FYI, the print is small.
*You need computer access to the internet, you will spend a great deal of time on line. Dial up works just fine.
*You should be a fairly good typist and a good speller, this is so important for folks who will be accessing the data.
*You should be fairly close to me so we can work together. I live just outside of Middleville so anyone in the Middleville, Wayland, Hastings, Caledonia, Grand Rapids and surrounding area works best.
*I will come to your home to bring the newspapers and work with you for a brief time showing you how to enter the data. I will leave sample data for you to follow.
Please let me know as soon as possible if you can help. The sooner the data is entered, the sooner they will be on line.
