The State of Nevada is sponsoring the 26 BYLAWS changes discussed and
developed by the USGW membership on USGenWeb-ALL -L.
These changes are NOT the same as the ones being discussd by the bylaws
committee.
I have coordinated this grass-roots effort to improve the structure of the
USGenWeb Project. I and the those who have contributed have worked over a
month in fine tuning these proposals.
In order for the MEMBERS to have a chance to look these over and decide if
these are what they want, ie: VOTE, we need the support of several other
states to co-sponsor the submitted proposals.

Hi,
I am looking for any information on Horatio Nelson BALDWIN who, according
to the Lenawee County web site was one of the first settlers in the
Clinton, MI area in 1830. Does anyone know how I could find more
information about him and where he came from?
Thanks.

I'm searching for Suzy Bridges. She did some genealogy for me at one
time and I've lost contact with her. I thought perhaps she was on this
list. Thanks.
I am searching for the location of Elmwood Cemetery.
My Sarah Ann Crawford CONRAD died 10 December 1909. Her obit says she
was buried in Elmwood Cemetery. And that she resided in Algoma Twp.,
Kent Co., MI for 30 years. I am assuming that Elmwood Cemetery is in
Algoma Twp. Her death certificate says that she died in Grand Rapids.
I have gone to the roots site for Algoma Twp., and there is no Elmwood
Cemetery listed.
Can anyone help me find it. I'm looking for a phone number and address
so I can write to see if her husband, William Conrad is buried there
with her.
Thanks so much.

Please, can someone help me find out just what is meant by Petition List?
In looking at the Family Tree Maker's 1830 census for Michigan it lists people as following;
Name:______________
State: MI
County: Michigan Terr.
Year: I have them from 1830 to 1836
Census type code: Petition List.
I have found several people on this census that I am hoping are mine, but, just how do I find out the county they lived in? How many counties were in the Michigan Terr. in 1830-1836?
I have requested this information from a number of places and people to no avail. They either do not know or do not answer me.
By joining this list I sure hope someone can help me.
Greatly appreciate any suggestions and thank you.

Carol,
Well said! I think the other thing people need to remember is that
although the 1930 was released it does not mean that all the genealogy
libraries are now fully stocked. Most won't see the first roll for a few
weeks, and even then it must go thru cataloging and such before it finds its
way to shelves.
Right now if you want to see the 1930 you pretty much have to go to a
national archive, unless of course you have relatives you are searching for
in Delaware! (Ancestry.com).

I think you can probably forget getting anyone to do a lookup in the 1930
for you yet. Those few who are able to get access to the 1930 records this
early probably won't have time to do lookups yet.
I remember when the 1920 came out. I was living in the Denver area at the
time and went to the National Archives many times a week doing research.
Out came the 1920 census and suddenly it was extremely difficult to get
access to the archives/census for months. People you never saw on a regular
basis, came out of the woodwork, so to speak wanting to see the 1920 census.
It was a mad house.
Even Ancestry.com, who is attempting to put the 1930 Census online as
quickly as possible, will not probably have everything online for weeks. As
of yesterday they only had a portion of Delaware online.
If you are unable to attempt getting access to the 1930 census,
personally...you might just as well do as I am planning on doing...wait
patiently until the initial onslaught is over before even attempting to look
for my relatives.

I'm not sure where to look in this case, or even how to find a cemetery
