I am researching Richard Corbus who married a Cynthia McVay about 1830. Richard died between 1830-1840. Cynthia remarried to Samuel White and was living in Branch Co, MI in the 1850 census.\

The marriage of Pardon T. Fisher and Mrs. Lovina Gregory is located in
the Jackson American Citizen dated January 6, 1850 on page three. It
states:
"In Leoni, on Thurs. the 10th inst., by the Reverence Mr. Davis, the
Rev. Pardon L Fisher, of Rives to Mrs. Lovina H Gregory of Leoni."
The obit for Pardon T. Fisher was located in the Jackson Weekly Citizen
on November 21, 1882. The obit stated that Pardon died on November
12th, but there was no information about marriage or survivors.
Another researcher has a Pardon F Fisher born bet 1796 and 1800 m.Jan.1,1823 Maria Hunt b.Nov.20,1802 dau. of William & Sycha (Leigh) Hunt. They had 2 children (names unknown) The Family moved to Michigan prior to 1850. He also has a deed and in looking at that his Pardon F was called Pardon T. so this marriage to Maria Hunt is we would assume a first marriage, Lovina H Gregory his second and Rebecca Hughs his 3rd. Rebecca preceeded Pardon in death.
We've been looking at Pardon as potential Father for my Great Great Grandmother as things were fitting according to his 1830 NY and 1840 Census information but seeing she is not listed in the probate it's back to the drawing board. Still feel there is a connection between my GGGrandmother Harriet Fisher Bryant who married Sylvanus Bryant Rives Jackson MI 1846. Son Henry Densmore Bryant, their son, is one reason. James M. Densmore was the JP and witnesses were M. Densmore and M. Hobart. Harriet was just 21 when she married Sylvanus. She was born NY ca 1826. I suppose it's possible though unlikely that she married young and that husband died and he was a Fisher and so anything found reflects that she is a Fisher? Sure would love to solve this puzzle..
Hope this helps someone..

Dying in 1968 means either Wayne County, Lansing or City of Detroit,
depending on exactly where he died. I do not know of any other source for
death records that late.

Thought this interesting...from the Ancestry Weekly Digest.
MYFAMILY.COM AND RELATIVE GENETICS PARTNER TO DELIVER
GENETIC GENEALOGICAL SERVICE
MyFamily.com and Relative Genetics, a world-class genomics laboratory
and a leader in establishing definitive biologic relationships
through DNA testing and analysis, have entered an exclusive
partnership to distribute the Ancestry(TM) GenetiKit(TM), the most
complete and extensive DNA test available. The partnership and new
product combine traditional genealogy with the latest technology
making it easier to answer the question: "Where did I come from?"
The Ancestry GenetiKit will be introduced at GENTECH, the conference
for genealogy and technology in Boston, Massachusetts, on 25 January
2002. The test will be available exclusively through Ancestry.com, a
member of the MyFamily.com network, on 25 January and can be ordered
online for $219.00. The home collection kit comes with a swab to
painlessly and easily collect a sample of cells from the inside of
your cheek, which is then returned to the laboratory where DNA
testing is completed within a few weeks.
The Ancestry GenetiKit can be used to test for paternal-line
relationships through a test known as the Surname Test or Y
Chromosome Test. The Surname test analyzes twenty-three markers
making it the highest resolution commercial Y-chromosome test in the
world. These markers identify the provider's genetic identity
inherited from his ancestors. Other tests available using the
GenetiKit include the Mitochondrial DNA Native American Haplotype
Test and Mitochondrial DNA Sequencing Test used for establishing
maternal relationships.
The genetic identity of the provider will be compared against a
database of over nineteen thousand DNA samples, the world's largest
database of genetic genealogical samples. The results that will be
reported to the provider include an analysis of the provider's
personal genetic identity and a comparison with surnames contained in
the database to determine relationships. Ancestry.com users can use
their personal genetic identity to find other Ancestry.com users who
are living relatives. Furthermore, if a match is determined with
another sample in the database, the provider will receive ancestral
information on that match including a name, place, and date.
"By gathering genetic data from populations throughout the world,
Relative Genetics and The Sorenson Molecular Genealogy Foundation, in
conjunction with development from the BYU Center for Molecular
Genealogy, are building the world's largest database of genetic
populations. These populations are sorted by place and time so
finding out where and when your genetic ancestors may have lived is
easier," said Dr. Scott Woodward, PhD., Professor of Microbiology and
faculty member of the Molecular Biology Program at Brigham Young
University, Laboratory Director of Relative Genetics.
Genealogy has traditionally been done using records of people's names
in association with dates and places. Almost every genealogist knows
that name changes and dates are not recorded and places can be
forgotten. Ancestry.com and Relative Genetics have teamed up to help
fill in the missing pieces.
"You carry within your DNA a record of your ancestry," said Tom
Stockham, CEO of MyFamily.com. "The Ancestry GenetiKit test accesses
the only record that never gets lost; your genetic heritage, DNA. By
combining those DNA records with more than 1.5 billion names we
currently have available online, we will offer our customers an
unsurpassed ability to build family pedigrees and establish
relationships between distant relatives."

Was it common for colleges in 1921 to form daisy chains? Have a postcard from my aunt, Dororhy Arvilla Joyce, stating that this was the first daisy chain of her first year in college. Could have been Western Michigan at Kalamazoo? Thank you in advance for any info. Janet
Hi,
I am trying to connect parents to my Great Great Grandmother Harriett/Harriet Fisher b. ca 1826 somewhere in NY. Have her death and burial, (she died Jul 17 1895 at age 69y 1m 17d) marriage and family, know she was in Henrietta Twp, Jackson county, Michigan with husband Sylvanus Bryant and one son in 1850, Henry Densmore Bryant b. 1849, records say daughter Emma born MI as well, 1851. (know that from MI they were in Illinois and had another son Franklin Pierce Bryant and then by 1860 were in Story County, Iowa and my Great Grandmother Almatia Lauretta Bryant was born. The following, along with a marriage record for Harriet Fisher to Sylvanus Brant (sure that is Bryant though, everything else matches), Dec 24, 1846, Michigan, Jackson, Rives, with the JP being J. M. Densmore, a witness was a M. Densmore and another was Hobart. Does anyone connect with this information and the information below? In a grandaughter's DAR record Harriet is called Rachel Harriet. Otherwise always find her as Harriet/Harriett or Harriet R.
Pardon and James, In 1850 Pardon Fisher is in Jackson Co. He has
a son, Pardon who married Ann Eliza Hunt.
James E. Fisher in 1850 is in Eaton Co. He has a son Pardon H. who
married Phebe. James also has sons Ransom and Thomas.
I surmise James E. Fisher and Pardon are brothers.
In 1840 James is in Eaton Co. while Pardon is in Jackson Co.
1840 Eaton Co.
James Fisher
Males Under 1 = 1 (Ransom)
5-10 = 1 (Thomas)
15-20 = 1 (Pardon H. married Phebe)
40-50 = 1 (James)
Females 15-20 = 1 (?????)
40-50 = 1 (Hannah)
1840 Jackson Co.
Pardon Fisher
Males Under 5 = 1 (????)
5-10 = 1 (Jerome)
10-15 = 1 (William found in 1850 living with Maria Berry in
Henrietta)
40-50 = 1 (Pardon)
Females Under 5 = 2 (Sarah, Elizabeth)
10-15 = 1 (Harriet?)
30-40 = 1 (Unknown wife at this point but could be Maria)
In 1850, Harriet is listed as 24 years of age. Based on that she would
fit into Pardon's family as between 10-15. However, if the birthday is
off a little, she would also fit into James's family of being 15-20.
But, because she married in Rives, Jackson Co., I believe she belongs to
Pardon, not James. Generally the marriage took place where the bride
lived. If these 2 are brothers, they do point back to Charles in NY.
In 1830 I found Pardon Fisher in Washington Co. NY.
1830 Fort Ann, Washington Co. NY
Pardon Fisher
Males Under 5 = 1 (William)
5-10 = 1 (George L.)
30-40 = 1 (Pardon)
Females Under 5 = 1 (Harriet?)
20-30 = 1 (Maria?)
I did not find James in Washington Co. in 1830. There was a James E.
Fisher in another county.
