LUDINGTON (AP) A Mason County couple was pronounced dead at the scene of their
rural Mason County home in what sheriff's deputies said was an apparent murder-
suicide.
The bodies of Leroy Bernke and his wife, Dorothy, were found by deputies Friday
morning at the couple' home. Sheriff's officers gave no further details,
except to say that at least one of the Bernkes had been shot.

Conception Burciaga died on March 29, 2004 at Bixby Medical Center. She was
born May 23, 1953 in Adrian.
She is survived by a twin sister and step-sister and their husbands,two
brothers, several nieces and nephews, and her dog. Her parents, grandparents,
and cousin preceded her in death.
Visitation will be on Tuesday at the Purse Funeral Home, Adrian. Funeral
Service will be Wednesday at Family Worship Center, Adrian. Private burial
will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Mary Bilkey passed away May 6, 2004 in the Lenawee Critical Care Facility.
She was born June 21, 1921 in Frankford Kentucky.
Surviving are a son and step-daughter, four siblings, seven grandchildren,
three great-grandchildren and dear friends. Her husband, son, parents, and
sister preceded her in death.
Memorial services will be May 14, 2004 at Hope Lutheran Church in Adrian.

Helen I. Lane died at Lynwood Manor on April 30, 2004. She was born December
19, 1918 in Toledo Ohio.
Surviving are three children, nine grandchildren, and thirteen great-
grandchildren. Her husband, parents, and five siblings preceded her in death.
Visitation will be at the Purse Funeral Home on Saturday evening and Sunday.
The funeral will be held on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will follow
in Oakwood Cemetery.
