"D of A" probably stands for "Daughters of America" which is a
fraternal
type organization founded in 1888. "D of A" commemorative plaques are
found on many tombstones. Go to
http://www.rootsweb.com/~srgp/flaghold/flag018.htm to see an example of
such a plaque. Sorry, but I don't know much about the organization.
