That is an oxymoron. If tax dollars pay for anything it is NOT free. I do
appreciate that this service is being finally provided and that more are on
the way, but atypical bureaucracies seem to have difficulty expressing to
the public that at times they do NOT know how to solve issues for which
they are the primary responsibility. If they don't then the respectful
course of response should be to simply say so and not tell the "customer"
that he/she/it are wrong and leave it at that. Fact, is the cookie/pop-up
replpy I received via this site, did the trick and I will now send an email
to the MSA making them aware of it. However, they obviously have contracted
with someone or have some in-house who should have been able to come up with
a simple solution as this. Also, if you read the detail in the original
message you would have seen that I once WAS able to access when someone,
again from this site, had posted two different links. One was to the online
datasite and the other was a sort of "back-door" approach, which did NOT
require the cookie/pop-up functions to be disabled on my home PC, thereby
NOT requiring me to compromise my home systems security. Furthermore, I have
dealt with all too many IT engineers over the course of my 20 year career in
HiTech who always want to blame the "hardware" (in this case a person)
rather than admit they either have no clue or that they overlooked something
in the installation or implementation aspect of their programing. I've also
noted that over 95% of those times it WAS in fact an issue of the software,
but not one that doesn't have a fairly simple and immediate solution. MSA's
response saddly struck on the blame the user cord with me and completely
missed the mark as the kind gentleman here who provided me with the
solution so readily proved to the point. Trust me, I have a "grip" and
though I normally have no problem with the MSA, I know they read this and
will see that our community is vigilant.
Finally, your personal attack is uncalled for and this is not the forum for
it. Aside from owing an apology, perhaps you need a few lessons in manners
and civility.
I've worked in the field for all this time and know that no software or
hardware with that high a price tag comes without support from the supplier
of that system. These things are all part of the contract.
At the risk of redundancy, this service is NOT FREE. It cost good money from
hard working folks many of whom pay more taxes than those would should be.
If all that money is being spent to provide this service to the taxpayer
then we have a right and a duty to insist that it e done correctly and
functions as it is intended. There is nothing wrong with my complaint. What
would be wrong is if I or anyone else kept silent with an issue which
obviously more than just myself has had to be confronted with.
I find your foul language directed at me personally a total affront and way
out of place, and not in keeping with this site's intent. Besides, I will
make an arse of myself any darned time I choose. It's my choice to make, not
your's. There is no gift about it. In government WE the PEOPLE still decide
which agency does what and WE also have the duty and obligation to ensure
they do what WE want and NOT what THEY want.
Thanks you,
Bob Ireland

Bob,
Get a grip. Remember, all MSA services are free thanks to taxpayer
dollars.
Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, and make an arse of
yourself in the
process.
