Hi Rooters,
Does anyone know of this couple, Robert and Eleanor CATLING? Eleanor is
listed on the 1850 Worc. Co Census, but Robert must have died, she was
living alone. Their dob should be around 1790 or so.
The spelling I have is CATLIN, however, we all know the wild variations
these names went through. They would have had at least one daughter
Julia(n)bc 1810/12, maybe an Ann and one more, besides other's unknown
to me at this time. This is one of my greatest brickwalls......
It was thought that they lived in Somerset, and maybe they did, when
she and Elijah Brittingham married. Julian died bef 1848 as Elijah re
married then and was in Worc. Co for his second marriage.
In my Worc. Co. Marriage book 1795 -1865, I show a Robert D. CATLEN mar
to a Nelly Carey, Aug 2, 1813, maybe too old to be a sibling, and then I
show a Leah CATLEN, mar to a James Davis Nov 15, 1831, which could be a
sister or cousin?, Julia married Elijah in 1828.......so the dates are
close........for a sister.......
I can't locate a grave site for either Julian or Elijah, he is not
buried with his second wife, so maybe he is buried with his first wife
in Somerset...... thanks for any replies........would appreciate it very
much........
thanks,
Joanie
