Jerry, some of the Ship lists - held at the National Archives - may give
clues, but even these may be just about the area from which the
passenger came. Emphasize "may". Most of the ships, though, came from
Liverpool, carrying Irish immigrants who had sailed across the Irish sea
on very small boats to get to the big shipping port. Others, though,
came from Cork or the west, or SE Irish towns such as Waterford or New
Ross (on the river Barrow). The US apparently only required data on
country of origin, though. I found old family spoken legends/rumors to
be factual. And the Irish County historical people (certainly in
Kilkenny) were wonderfully helpful and not too expensive. Wish you well
