When Isaac Green died in 1828, John Gambrill was named executor of the
estate. When John Gambrill died in 1831, he had not completed the job of
executor. So Isaac's daughter, Abigail had to carry on as executor of her
father's will, besides caring for her ten children, wards of the court.
John R Gwynn, John & Mary Gambrill, two sons Henry and John, and Mary's
brother Benjamin Gwynn - left Maryland for California in 1852 because of
John Gambrill's ill health. They settled in Auburn, Placer County,
California. John died a year later in 1853. Records of the settlement of
his estate show his widow had remarried in January 1854. The 1860 will of
Abigail Green Gambrill, John's mother, left "$200 to each of my grandsons,
Henry Mankin Gambrill & John Gwynn Gambrill, children of my deceased son,
John Gambrill, living in California.

The descendents of these Gwynns still live in California.
