Subject: [MDGEN] Cemetery Site
I just found this site, which has a LOT of Maryland
Cemeteries. Hope this
helps someone!

Technically speaking Genealogy Register doesn't "have"
those transcriptions, they are just links to the
individual text-copies of the MD Tombstone Project
(part of the USGENWEB/Rootsweb Tombstone Transcription
Project), so I really hope people will instead go to
the "real thing".
http://www.rootsweb.com/~cemetery/maryland.html In
fact they have none of our thousands of photographs of
tombstones.
You can search all the text files (from the bottom of
the first page) either state-wide or by county. Most
but not all of the photographic tombstone
transcriptions have been also added to the searchable
text files, eventually all will be added for search
purposes. Since not all have been placed in the
searchable archives, it doesn't hurt also look at the
photographic transcriptions for your county of
interest.
We have hundreds of transcriptions (all those on that
site are ours) and thousands of photographs of
tombstones throughout Maryland.
If anyone has a transcription, with or without photos,
please contact me directly at mdcat.geo(a)yahoo.com or
mdcemmy(a)yahoo.com and I'll be delighted to add your
transcription or individual names to the Project.
BTW: I searched for the Youngs in Howard Co. and did
not find the ones Homer was looking for.
