Jane,
The one connection I have to the Merrick family is through George Clarence Merrick (born
in Upper Marlboro, MD) who married Alice Maria Waring in 1867. George and Alice has 8
children. Alice was the daughter of John Henry Waring. This Waring family had some
interesting and very unfortunate circumstances during the Civil War.
Not sure if related to your Merricks, but wanted to pass along.
Cynthia

My 4th ggf was Michael Merrick who married Verlinda Bowman
(my 4th ggm) May 21, 1800. I do not know anything about
him although I do know Verlinda's ancestry for a few
generations.
They were married in Montgomery County but everytime a
break through a stone wall with my family, they end up on
the Eastern Shore. Nothing surprises me anymore.
Let's kept in touch to see if this is the same family.
After all just how many Merrick branches can there be
around in 1800.
