I am sending you a portion of my Hill line. See if you can find any
connections here with yours.
If this is a duplication for you please forgive my memory.
Mel
I don't know when my Hill's come to America I have a list of them and from
what I have found on the net they may have came from England, not proven as
yet but close. My gggrandfather John Hill was born in Md abt/1794 his wife
was Phoebe (handed down that she was indian, Cherokee) According to the 1850
census of Ohio they moved to Ohio from Md some time around 1826 or 1827
because that 1850 census shows their two oldest children to have been born
in Md and the rest starting in 1827 were born in Ohio. His parents were
either 1. William Hill b/abt1751 and Mary Parkinson/Perkinson. or 2. Abraham
Hill unknown date. I believe that a Richard Hill figures in there also. I
don't have that info in front of me so I am not sure is Richard was father
or brother.
More info
My Hill ancestors came from Md to Ohio. They were from Taneytown/Harney, Md
area. I have found them in Frederick, Md. (must have been married there)
they moved to Guernsey, County Ohio some time around 1826 or 1827 I know
this because their two oldest children were born in MD while the rest were
born in Ohio (Shown by 1850 Ohio Census). My gggrandfather John Hill, his
wife and at least two of his children are buried in Center Cemetery near
Cambridge, Ohio. He married Phoebe/Phebe (Spelling? and last name unknown),
It has been passed down to us that she was indian (possibly Cherokee). I
believe his father was either William Hill b/abt/1851 in Md, around Harney
or Taneytown (pronounced tawnytown) or possibley Abraham Hill who I believe
are related in some way. I have been in touch with others who are related
and have a lot of correspondence from them regarding our Hill line.
I am including my Hill line. And would appreciate hearing from you regarding
your Hill line so we can compare notes.
Thanks,
Mel Hill

My ggrandfather John Hill was born in Maryland 1794/1793, I believe in
Frederick, Maryland. Married a Phoebe (last name unknown, but believed to be
indian, possibly Cherokee) His father and mother could be either William
Hill b/MD/1751, or Abraham Hill b/????.

Around 1826/27 John Phoebe and his first two children plus I don't know who
else moved to Guernsey County, Ohio.
At some time John's son,William A., and family packed up and moved to
