There is a book at the Maryland Historical Society Library entitled
"Directory of Maryland Ministers." The book is arranged alphabetically, by
surname, and briefly describes known churches where the individuals served,
and which years. Presumably other libraries have the book as well.

My great grandfather, Hopper Emory Nicholson, married Sarah L. Emory on 30
Sep 1875. He was born and raised in Queen Anne's County but moved to
Baltimore at some point. I am trying to determine if he was living in
Baltimore at the time of his marriage. His wedding announcement was
published in the Baltimore Sun. However, that fact does not necessarily
mean that he was living in Baltimore at the time since he (and his bride)
had family there. However, if he actually was married in Baltimore, that
might be a different story.
The minister who performed the ceremony was named Rev. F Swentzel and I
have good reason to believe that he was a Methodist minister.
Does any one have any books or other sources which list clerics and their
churches in 1875 in Maryalnd? If so, could you please look up Rev.
Swentzel and tell me the location of his church.
Thank you,
Bruce
