I mean from the historical prospective of course! I'm sure there are
some that could contribute about who made discoveries of local places in
Baltimore, for example! There are parks, I'm sure that were bought by
"John smith" & give some background information, about his family.
Sharing this gives us all some background & makes the list fresh!
That's What I mean by "local gossip" Betty. Isn't that why we have a
list, to educate others in the searching?! That's one of the reasons I
came to this list, & sure that others did for that same reason! You
don't have to have a degree to say what you've learned about an area, if
you've explored. How about it, everyone? Is there an area where you've
explored you'd care to elaborate about, & share? Isn't that what our
craft is all about? Genealogy is the study of & sharing of history of
people. & not necessarily about your line. Observations about a class of
people.
I'll not rattle anymore. Think about what you have in your family.
Migrations routes, how people lived back a hundred years ago. Happy
hunting, Cathy

I am wary of the term "gossip." I have left a couple of
lists because
of`chit-chat. However, if it is confined to making historical
connections,
and giving background information, that is helpful.
