Dee,
Have you looked at Maryland wills yet? I have a book titled "Index of
Maryland Colonial Wills", by Magruder, Jr. It lists the following:
1735, Horney, Solomon, Talbot County, Book, 21, Page 457
1736, Horney, James, Talbot County, Book 21, Page 727
1738, Horney, Jeffery, Talbot County, Book 21, Page 861
1743, Horney, James, Talbot County, Book 23, Page 312
1762, Horney, Solomon, Talbot County, Book 31, Page 758
I realize these are dated earlier than Thomas' birth but, perhaps you can
find a lead by looking at the heirs in the wills. Hope this has helped.
Sincerely,

Subject: [MDGEN] Brickwall: HORNEY 1600s-present, all of Maryland
Hello,
I am researching the surname HORNEY from the 1600s Talbot County and later
years in Talbot, Caroline, Queen Anne's, Baltimore and the rest of
Maryland.
Early descendants of the Horneys from the 1600s in Mayland also
removed to
Delaware, North Carolina and Ohio.
I would love to hear from anyone researching the surname HORNEY as I am
trying to tie them all together.
My direct ancestor and 4th great grandfather was Thomas Horney who was
born
about 1793 in probably Talbot County, Maryland and died 1859 in
Winchester
(near Grasonville) Queen Anne's County, Maryland. He first married
Elizabeth
"Betsy" Sewell (my 4th great grandmother) and secondly
married Henrietta
"Mary" Pinkind.
This is my brick wall: I am still searching for Thomas Horney and
Elizabeth
Sewell's parents.
Most of his descendants still live in Grasonville, Queen Anne's County, as
well as Baltimore, Anne Arundel and elsewhere.
Thanks,
Dee Horney Gabler
