What Jean was referring to was a special census of Union Veterans and Widows
taken in 1890, at the same time as the regular census. It is all that
survived the fire that destroyed the 1890 Census, and it is not nearly
complete, even for the veterans and widows. Anyplace that has it, including
Ancestry.com, has it with their regular census data.
From Ancestry's web site, data only survived from eleven states, with some
of them being only one or two counties or townships. So don't get your
hopes up. Information I have is that there is no information from Maryland.
Out of 63 million people counted in the 1890 Census, records only survived
for about 6,000.

I believe it may be called the Union List, since it is mainly Union Veterans
included in the states that were saved.
