My GGGrandparents were BENJAMIN WALLACE COMPTON -and- MARGARET ANN CECIL who
were married 02 Feb 1842 in Tazewell County, VA as Recorded in Volume 1, pp.
154 in the Tazewell County Courthouse.
Margaret Cecil's family came to SWVA from MD. Her parents were Henry W.
Cecil & Rebecca Claypool(e) from Tazewell, VA. Henry's parents were James
Cecil & Margaret Wysor. He was from Prince George's Cty., MD & Margaret was
from Tazewell, VA. They both died in Tazewell, VA. James' parents were
Samuel W. Cecil & Rebecca White both born in PGC, MD & died in Dublin,
Pulaski Cty., VA. They were married in 1744 & Samuel fought in the American
Revolution.
Does any of this connect to your Cecil's?

Subject: Re: [MDGEN] Newspapers
Thanks OKay for the information on old newspapers. I am looking for
1900s
forward.
Trying to find obituaries, social news and wedding information for
the
Cecil, Foster, Mansfield, Thomas and Willis families.
I don't have much on the Willis family. My ggrandmother was Henrietta
Willis.
She married Charles E Cecil. Her sister Margaret married Charles'
brother James Cecil. I don't know who her parents were. Still searching.
Any help would be appreciated.
