I would really appreciate suggestions on how best to research the Sixth Regiment of
Maryland troops in the American Revolution, especially during 1877-1880 (before they moved
to the Southern front). My ancester, William Kinnick (Kennick) was Sergeant Major during
this period. I'm interested in surrounding social history as well a details of
military encounters; diaries and manuscripts that might be available for examination, at a
time in the next five years, would be of special interest.

On November 12, 2005 the Colonel Aquila Hall Chapter, Sons of the American
Revolution will be marking the graves of 3 Revolutionary Patriots buried at
St. George's Parish in Perryman.
They are as follows:
Dr. Elijah Davis - Prisioner on the ship, Jersey
Dr. Josias Carvil Hall - MD Contential Line
Gabriel Christie, (1755-1808) a Representative from Maryland; born in
Perryman, Harford County, Md., in 1755; during the Revolutionary War was a
member of a company of militia organized September 12, 1775, by the
provincial convention held at Annapolis on July 26, 1775; member of the
State house of delegates; appointed by Gov. William Smallwood one of the
commissioners to "straighten and amend the post road from Havre de Grace to
Baltimore town" by authority of the act of 1787; elected to the Third and
Fourth Congresses (March 4, 1793-March 3, 1797); elected as a Republican to
the Sixth Congress (March 4, 1799-March 3, 1801); one of the commissioners
of Havre de Grace in 1800 and 1801, and again in 1806; appointed collector
of the port of Baltimore and served until his death in Baltimore, Md., April
1, 1808; interment in Spesutia Churchyard, Perryman, Harford County, Md.
Any descendants of the above Rev War Patriots are welcome to attend. There
will be a luncheon at 12 noon followed by the grave dedication at about
1:00pm.
