SEARCHING OLD BOOKS IN NEW WAYS - ELECTRONIC TEXT
"Searching Old Books in New Ways - Electronic Text" will be presented by
Janet C. McFarland at the Charles County Maryland Genealogical Society
meeting Thursday, October 19th, in recognition of October as Family History
Month.
Electronic, or Digitized, books are just what they sound like--books
digitized on CD-ROM and possibly downloaded to the internet. Techniques for
using these digital books, and how to find and access them, help to locate
information about ancestors.
Mrs. McFarland is a lecturer, researcher and co-founder of Retrospect
Publishing. She has been involved in Pennsylvania research for over twenty
years, and is a member of First Families of Western Pennsylvania.
The CCMGS meets at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 4560
Padgett Road, White Plains at 7:00 PM the third Thursday each month except
December.
