Hello,
I am new to the list. I recently found out that my gggGrandfather
Benjamin Long was born in MD. I have no idea where. His dob is abt.
1760-1770 according to census records. He married Elizabeth Unknown.
By 1809 he had moved to Huntingdon Co., PA (possibly before that time).
Around 1826 he moved to Tuscarawas/Stark/Carroll Co., OH. He died in
Carroll Co., OH ca 1844. Some of their children moved to Bartholomew
Co., IN around 1845.
I have no information on Benjamin Long's parents or siblings. According
to his will he had the following children:
Samuel Long (according to Benjamin's will Samuel was dead before 1832)
Eloner Long
Ruthie Long b. bet. 1800-1810 m. Joseph Brown
John G. Long
William Long b. 1809 m. Anna Weaver (my ggGrandparents)
Martha Long b. 1811 m. Edward Wingate
Young Benjamin Long b. 1813 m. Catherine Weaver
Elizabeth Long
Hannah Long b. 1818 m. John Weaver
According to Benjamin's will of 1832, his wife Elizabeth was still
living. Census records show Elizabeth being born in PA and it is
possible that they were married there.
The Weaver family that married into the Long family came from Frederick
Co., MD. Surnames in the Weaver family are also Beamer and Albaugh.
Many of them also ended up in the same counties in OH. It is possible
that my Long family lived near these families.
My Long family was Lutheran and said to be PA Deutch, from Germany.
This is my brick wall. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
I tried to go to the land patents to take a look see, but evidently you
need a membership as it asks for login and password. I gave the one I
had but it won't accept it. I was trying to look up MSA S1426 for
Brittingham.
Can someone look it up for me or can you tell me how to get a password.
thanks,
Joanie

You should be able to get that information from the Daughters of the
American Revolution. We have documented pages in their materials for our
ancestor.
Which ancestor were you referring to? I checked and they only have three
Camden's in their Patriot index.

Hello
In my Mother's line I have Elsie Phelps born 1893 m G. KNIGHT,we are fairly
sure his first name was George but to leave it open I'm putting G. While we
feel the family was in Harford County I would like to include Baltimore as
well. We do not know if they had children or not. Any help or direction would
be helpful.
I'm not making it easy am I?
Sincerely, Helen

Last year, as I recall, I saw a flurry of correspondence about good/bad new laws to protect graveyards. There will be such a proposal in Kentucky next year. What should we support/oppose so we don't deter researchers, please?

Subject: [MDGEN] Anyone know of this church?
In an obituary that I received for my g-grandmother, her church was
listed as German United Evangelical Lutheran Church, East ave. and
Dillon street.
Does anyone know if this church still exists, how to contact them, or
where their records may be?
I live in upstate NY, so a visit to the archives is not possible...much
as I wish it were!!
