Seeking name of first wife of Godfrey Ratz, born 4-22-1743,Possibly in
Germany, immigrated 1751 and Married about 1769, per a number of
Genealogies, to an unknown woman... Later married Maria Margaretha
Elizabetha Schweissguth, in perhaps Philadelphia Co., or York Co., Pa.,or
N.C., about 1780 ... need date and location.
Many genealogies state that he was married only once, to Miss
Schweissguth,in 1769, and I have been ridiculed and "poophooed",by more
learned persons than myself, about my contention that there may have been an
earlier marriage. BUT, no one has been able to come up with a marriage
record for the Marriage of Gotfried Ratz and Miss Schweissguth. I would
think that a couple as influential as Mr Ratz, and Miss Schweisguth, would
leave a marriage record, since they both were apparently devout churchgoers.
I would also think, that these naysayers would be able to back up their
ridicule with a marriage document, or church record of such a marriage.
Is there anyone out there who has a marriage record for this couple, or a
marriage record for Godfried/Godfrey Ratz to someone else? Any help
appreciated...

Dear Listers,
Have tried before with no response. Looking for birth record for
Charles C. Tingstrum, born March 4, 1858 someplace in Maryland. Most
likely birth took place in Frederick or a county nearby.
If anyone can supply me with information on this birth or where I
may find records on this date please e-mail me at jimting(a)erols.com. It
would be greatly appreciated as I have had a deadend for several years.
Thanks Listers.
Jim Tingstrum
Hi,
**This message is being sent to the MDGEN mailing list.**
The email address that RootsWeb has for the MDGEN list admin
wsmithso(a)erols.com
is bouncing, so RootsWeb is looking to make contact with the list
admin. Will the list admin please contact Andrew Billinghurst
(billingh(a)rootsweb.com) so that we know that you are still
maintaining this list.
List members there is nothing for you to worry about and nothing for
you to do, it is probably just an email problem for the person
looking after the day-to-day management of this list.
Thanks!

I just got a clue today that my Fletcher line may have been in the DC/MD area
in the mid 1700's. A Thomas Fletcher migrated to western PA
(Greene/Washington County area) with a group of families including Fees and
Lakins sometime around 1770. This Thomas may have been my John Fletcher's
father. I believe John was born in 1760. His family, according to accounts,
were farmers and distillers in western PA. In 1789 John and his wife and two
sons joined other families and moved into the newly opened Northwest
Territory in Hamilton County, OH. The Draper Papers mention a Dick Fletcher
as being in this early settlement in Hamilton County so probably he was a
brother to John?
Any information would be much appreciated.

Can anyone tell me anything about VICTOR EMANUEL BECCI. He was born in
Alsace=Loraine. He came to Maryland in the late 1700's with Rev. Prince
Gallitizen. Legend says they settled on the Easterm Shore, where they built
a Catholic Church, What Church? Where on the Eastern Shore? Any
information will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Gerry
