Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Gee, to the best of my knowledge, I've never received an email that was
supposed to have music in it, so hard to say. <g>
Seriously, that's gotta be HTML mail, so it would fall under the same rules
as webpages.....I don't put music on webpages, so I'm not an expert here.
But I know that music falls into that weird ground of HTML where there's
Netscape code, IE code, they don't necessarily work well with each other....
All of which is to say that someone else may have a more specific answer,
but it may well be a Netscape/Microsoft conflict rather than a Win/Mac
conflict. You don't say which of the two you use, but you might want to
check and see if the person sending the email that you're not getting the
sound on uses the *other* one.
Just a thought....
