Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Ark-La-Tex Genealogical Association will host an all day seminar and book
fair in Shreveport on August 8, 2015, featuring Charles Gardes, professional
genealogist and lecturer. Four lectures will include (1) Tracing Your
Civilian Ancestor in the Civil War, (2) Beginning Your German Research, (3)
Searching Fraternal Organization Records, and (4) It's A Gusher! - Actual
Probate Case Study of Heirship Verification. Location will be at the
Broadmoor United Methodist Church (Pearce Hall) 3715 Youree Dr. Barnes &
Noble will be on site with a special selection of genealogy and history
books. Lunch and syllabus included if pre-registered by August 6th. Door
Prizes to be given. Limited seating and advance registration recommended.
