As suggested by Virginia, I am interested in trying to put together an
article for a future newsletter on the "involvement" of members of the
extended Latta family in the War of 1812, serving in both the American and
Canadian/British armies. (I find this duality of loyalty in one family

mentioned earlier, there are a number of "War of 1812 Association"
societies in various states (e.g. Pennsylvania) which may be a source of
useful information - there may be one in your community. (I anticipate
being overwhelmed with your responses.)

PS Sorry about the occupation and burning of Washington, DC in 1814 - this
was probably done mainly by those nasty British troops, rather than
Canadian ... but let's try to move on ...
