You've got a tenuous thread there. RHL shows, in Br. #7, a Robert Latta, wife not
known, but both are buried in Orange Co. NC. They had at least three sons. If it could
be established that this wife is your Nancy, it would certainly help, and tie you to Br.
#7. I don't think the info I have sent is going to help, but at least you can see
where they came from. I have the same difficulty as you, in that James Latta, Br. #16,
settled in NC about 1760, and I cannot determine which are his offspring. I have no
problem going back from there, to where we farmed priior to 1650, in Co. Donegal. My
project has been to try and determine which townland, or farm, each of these Lattas came
from. This, I believe, will be the easiest way to connect the branches. There are only
about four main townlands in Donegal where Lattas resided in the 1600s, and from there
most of us came. It turned out to be like bringing rabbits to Australia.
Keep the WEB informed of any discoveries. We all want to know about it. If you have
any questions about the info I have sent, get right back to me. In the meantime, GOOD
Alex. Latta, Br. #16
