All I know is this: Gustav Adolf Schulze married Bertha Hamilton in 1911 or thereabouts,
and they had a son in 1914. They named him Lester Wilhelm, or Lester William - I'm not
sure which. About two years later they divorced. About ten years after the divorce, Bertha
Hamilton married a businessman named William Jack Latta, who adopted Lester Wilhelm, or
Lester William, who, accordingly, was renamed Lester William Latta. In 1942 or
thereabouts, Lester William Latta married Filomena Teodolina Roberto. In 1945 they had a
son - viz., me, Robert Lester Latta. I'm professor of philosophy at Bukkyo (Buddhist)
University in Kyoto, Japan, and a writer. I have no idea who William Jack Latta's
ancestors might have been, but Bertha Hamilton was his second wife, and his first was a
woman named Mamie Leish, though this spelling might be incorrect.
