Alex Latta (branch 16) of Edmonton, Alberta passed away on November 4th after a lengthy illness. He was 79 years of age. Alex dedicated much of his retirement years to Latta family genealogy, and since the inception of the Latta List has shared his excellent research with many of us for years. He frequently traveled to Ulster and Scotland and researched information about many Latta families whose ancestors had migrated to North America.
Alex and I were born in Edmonton in 1928 and we both grew up in that city.

I am looking for info on John Latta's (branch 6) second wife Willie Agnes (Davis) Latta. I know she was born 1868 or 1869 in Kentucky. I need to know if she was married to someone else before she married John Latta. If so, who was she married to and did she have a child by that person.

My husband is a descendant of Willie Agnes Latta. She
was born Nov. 21, 1867, Hickman Co., Ky., died Nov.
26, 1944 in Hickman Co. I don't believe she was
married before her marriage to John Appleton Latta
June 18, 1890. They had 5 children: Walter Roy,
Gilson Davis, Agnes Lorraine, Geraldine, and Bena
Elizabeth. Willie's younger brother, Walter Lee, was
my husband's grandfather.
I don't have much else except a copy of her death
