Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
I have been warned by my internet provider, ComCast, that the company that
maintains their email accounts... and therefore my email account, Excite.com
has been granted bankruptcy protection. However, this protection requires
them to cease operations. Please do not send emails unless you first back
up the data you send. They could go out of business at any time. I have
everyone's email address and will notify each of you when and if I have to
get a new provider.
If the time comes that you send and important email requiring an answer and
I don't answer assume it was lost. Email of obvious value will be answered
as soon as possible by whatever means I have at the time.

The email address that RootsWeb has for the LATHAN list admin
is bouncing, so RootsWeb is looking to make contact with the list
admin. Will the list admin please contact Andrew Billinghurst
(billingh(a)rootsweb.com) so that we know that you are still
maintaining this list and please reply quoting this message.
List members there is nothing for you to worry about and nothing for
you to do, it is probably just an email problem for the person
looking after the day-to-day management of this list. Rest assured
that this does not mean that your list is in danger.
