Hi... I am confused about these two... hoping to find help.
I was working backwards from son George Larkins. Found marriage record for Geo B. Larkins and Henrietta Thomas from 1915 listing Nellie A. Lane as mother and James Larkins as father. I found a census record with a James Larkins, born Feb 1850, a Nellie Larkins, born Aug 1856, a Nellie Larkins born Aug 1879, and a George Larkins, born Feb 1882. She is listed as having 4 children with 2 living.
There there is also an 1880 census that has two children... Mary G, born 1874, and Ellen I, born 1877. (I suspect that this might be the Nellie mentioned in the 1900 census...)
My confusion is with the findagrave site. I found what appears to be the graves of James and Nellie. There it lists Nellie's death date as 1890. It also lists Mary G as a child having passed away in 1894 as well as a son Daniel who had born and died before the 1880 census, which would be the 4th child. The other thing is that the years are way off for both of them on the stones. They line up more with the 1880 census. The months are correct on each of them... It's just weird.
I am wondering if maybe the stone might have been added WAAAY after her death, perhaps by a descendent who had faulty information?
