Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
I have recently moved to a new address. If any subscribers wish to have my
updated contact information (snail mail and telephone), please contact me off
the list, and I will send it to you privately.
As a matter of privacy, I do not post this information to the list, since
all list messages are archived. The standard admin address at RootsWeb will
still work, as well as direct e-mails to me at my AOL address, which hasn't

Summer is a time for vacations and visiting family and friends. Let me
offer this as a suggestion to our list members.
If your vacation includes a visit to your old hometown or includes any time
with family, please think about sharing your genealogy interests with them.
You may be surprised by how much you learn in doing this. Identifying old
family photos (don't forget to write the names on the back of the photo!),
visiting cemeteries, finding out who has old family bibles -- all these will
contribute to your research.
When you return from your travels, consider sharing your findings with our
list. If you made copies of some records, let us know what you found.
