corrections with sources appreciated. This record begs for more research.
FITCH (5) LANPHERE, son of Elijah and Anne (Fitch) Lamphere, was born 30 March
1761 [Bible record found in Revolutionary War pension file (W27145) and
published in the New York Genealogical and Biography Record, 71 : 272;
hereafter Fitch bible.] Lebanon CT [source?] and died 10 January 1826 [Ibid.].
Fitch was married at Durham, Conn., 12 January 1792 [Ibid., performed by Rev.
Elizur Goodrich (Yale, 1752).] to JERUSHA MERWIN. Jerusha was born 27 August
Fitch enlisted at Lebanon, Conn., on 22 Apr. 1777 in Capt. Paul Willis' Co.,
Col. Samuel Blatchley Webb's regt. and was discharged at Morristown, N.J., on
28 Apr. 1780. His family lived at Catskill, Greene Co., N.Y., on 1 June 1820
where he was a day laborer [Fitch bible.].
Jerusha bought land in Greene Co NY with daughter Nancy circa 1834 from Asa F
Hitchcock and wife [LR, V: 404, index only]. Jerusha sold land to Nancy in
1836 [ibid., X: 201]. Widow resided at Durham, Greene Co., N.Y. on 28 May 1839
