Thanks for your notice. I have put it on the Lanphear listserv. I realize
there are issues with Shirley's work, but it was a nice start. Because I
found some errorrs in her work and Everett E. Lamphere, I decided to collect
and publish what I found. I have identified the English origins and written
up the first generation in the NEHGR in 1999. I am working on the next
generation. I will keep your note for future reference.

I was absolutely furious that Buckman's error was perpetrated one
The Samuel of Bradford Co Pa was born 1752 !!! His wife's name was Mary and
none of his ch have the same names of the children of the Samuel b1750 and
Sarah s/o Solomon !!! The Samuels are two entirely different men !!!
Correct me if I'm wrong !!!
I've been working on the Lamphier/etc genealogy for over 35 yrs ...
I might add there is not one iota of proof that Phineas is the father of my
not once have we found a record where Phineas and Arnold are in the same
Arnold was born 1772-73 per 1850C Otsego Co NY ... Phineas m. Ms Lyman in
1774 well after Arnold's birth ...
In fact there are over 12 men who could be father of Arnold and more likely
to be so than Phineas !!! My first choice would be Joseph of Lee Berkshire
Co Mass. in 1810C.
Then there's the Mansfield Ct connection and Solomon who had a son:
How about the West Greenwich RI connection where Ebenezer and his wife, Amy
Jaquith were m. in 1768 (trusting my memory at the moment). Arnold's oldest
son Joseph was born in West Greenwich RI ...
Wish you luck. Enough said,
